The Guy
take the quiz
FireTexts is $3.99/month, trained by a dating coach, and claims 93% of users get more dates. The Guy costs 15x more. here's why that's the point.
credit where it's due: FireTexts is better than most dating AI tools. it's trained by an actual dating coach. it lets you set goals (humor, tease, go for the date). it handles screenshots. it doesn't sound like ChatGPT having a stroke.
but "better than most" is a low bar. most dating AI is terrible.
FireTexts still gives you one reply. no ranking, no alternatives. no analysis of what she actually means. no coaching on why the reply works or when to use that approach vs a different one. no awareness of where the conversation is going.
it's a wingman who yells suggestions from across the bar. sometimes he's right. you just don't know which time.
FireTexts deflected her comment and pushed for a date. not bad. but "maybe lol" is a stall. the breadstick line was decent, the follow-up was too direct too fast. no ramp.
The Guy read the subtext (she wants fun, not pressure), matched that energy with something absurd, built rapport through shared laughter, then pivoted to the date as a natural next step. she said yes because she wanted to, not because she was asked.

FireTexts calls itself "the ultimate AI wingman." so does Rizz. so does every dating AI on the market. that framing is the problem.
a wingman gives you one shot. you either use it or you don't. he doesn't explain why it'll work. he doesn't tell you what she's actually thinking. he doesn't know if you're in message 2 or message 12. he doesn't care if the bit has landed or if you need to pivot.
The Guy isn't a wingman. he's the version of you that already exists when you're not overthinking. the witty, relaxed, charming version. the one that shows up when you're talking to someone you don't care about impressing.
the texts The Guy produces aren't lines from someone else. they're calibrated expressions of your actual personality, minus the performance anxiety.
FireTexts is fine. fine doesn't get dates.
