Refund and Cancellation Policy

1. Subscription Services
1.1 Subscription Plans
The Guy App offers subscription-based access to the Service on a recurring basis (monthly or as otherwise specified at the time of purchase).
1.2 Billing
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis according to your selected billing cycle
- You will be charged automatically at the beginning of each billing period
- All fees are in U.S. Dollars
- You authorize us to charge your selected payment method for all applicable fees
1.3 Free Trials and Promotional Periods
- We may offer free trials or promotional pricing from time to time
- After any free trial or promotional period ends, you will be automatically charged at the then-current standard rate unless you cancel before the trial/promotional period expires
- Free trial eligibility may be limited to new users or subject to other restrictions
2. Cancellation Policy
2.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time by:
- Accessing your account settings in the App
- Contacting customer support at hello@asktheguy.app
- Following the cancellation instructions provided in your account dashboard
2.2 When Cancellation Takes Effect
- Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period
- You will retain access to the Service until the end of the period you've already paid for
- You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods after cancellation
- No partial refunds are provided for the current billing period
Example: If you subscribe on January 1st for a monthly plan and cancel on January 15th, you will retain access until January 31st and will not be charged on February 1st.
2.3 No Automatic Refund Upon Cancellation
Canceling your subscription does not automatically entitle you to a refund. See Section 3 (Refund Policy) below for refund eligibility.
3. Refund Policy
3.1 Subscription Fees - General Policy
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable.
Once charged, subscription fees for the current billing period are non-refundable, except as described below or as required by law.
3.2 Exceptions - When Refunds May Be Granted
We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds in the following circumstances:
(a) Technical Issues: If the Service experiences significant technical problems or outages that prevent you from using the Service, and such issues are not resolved within a reasonable timeframe
(b) Billing Errors: If you were charged in error or charged an incorrect amount due to a system malfunction
(c) Unauthorized Charges: If your payment method was charged without your authorization (subject to verification)
(d) Other Circumstances: Any other situation where we determine, at our sole discretion, that a refund is warranted
3.3 Refund Request Process
To request a refund:
- Contact us at hello@asktheguy.app within 30 days of the charge in question
- Include your account email, transaction date, and reason for the refund request
- We will review your request and respond within 5-7 business days
We reserve the right to approve or deny refund requests at our sole discretion.
3.4 Refund Method and Timing
If a refund is approved:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
- Refunds typically process within 5-10 business days after approval
- You are responsible for any fees charged by your financial institution
3.5 Account Status After Refund
If you receive a refund:
- Your access to the Service will be immediately terminated
- Your account may be closed or suspended
- You may be ineligible for future refunds or promotional offers
4. Price Changes
4.1 Subscription Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time.
4.2 Notice of Price Changes
- We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price increase affecting your active subscription
- Notice will be sent via email to the address associated with your account
- Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period after the notice period
4.3 Your Options
If you do not agree to a price increase:
- You may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect
- If you do not cancel, your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new price
4.4 Existing Subscriptions
Price changes do not affect the current billing period you've already paid for. You will be charged the new price beginning with your next billing period.
5. Failed Payments and Account Suspension
5.1 Failed Payment Attempts
If a subscription payment fails:
- We will attempt to charge your payment method multiple times over several days
- You will be notified via email of the failed payment
- You are responsible for updating your payment information
5.2 Account Suspension
If payment remains unsuccessful:
- Your account may be suspended or downgraded after 7 days
- You will lose access to premium features or the Service entirely
- You remain responsible for all outstanding charges
5.3 Reactivation
To reactivate a suspended account:
- Update your payment information
- Pay all outstanding balances
- Contact support if needed at hello@asktheguy.app
5.4 No Refunds for Suspended Accounts
If your account is suspended due to non-payment, you are not entitled to a refund for any prior charges.
6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
6.1 Contact Us First
Before filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card company, please contact us at hello@asktheguy.app to resolve the issue.
Most billing issues can be resolved quickly and amicably.
6.2 Chargeback Consequences
If you file a chargeback or payment dispute:
- Your account will be immediately suspended pending resolution
- If the chargeback is found to be invalid or fraudulent, your account may be permanently banned
- You may be liable for chargeback fees and legal costs
6.3 Fraudulent Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback for services that were properly delivered constitutes fraud.
We reserve the right to:
- Permanently ban your account
- Pursue legal action to recover losses
- Report fraudulent activity to appropriate authorities
7. Promotional Codes and Discounts
7.1 Promotional Code Terms
- Promotional codes, discounts, and special offers are subject to specific terms and conditions
- Codes may have expiration dates, usage limits, or eligibility restrictions
- Codes are non-transferable and have no cash value
- Only one promotional code may be used per transaction unless otherwise stated
7.2 No Refunds on Discounted Purchases
If you purchase a subscription or product using a promotional code or discount:
- Refunds (if granted) will be for the amount actually paid, not the full retail price
- The promotional code or discount cannot be reused if a refund is issued
8. Taxes
8.1 Tax Responsibility
You are responsible for all applicable taxes (including sales tax, VAT, GST, or other consumption taxes) based on your location.
8.2 Tax Collection
- We may collect and remit taxes as required by law
- Taxes may be added to your subscription or purchase price
- The amount charged may vary based on your billing address
8.3 Tax-Exempt Status
If you believe you qualify for a tax exemption:

- Tax exemptions must be approved before purchase to avoid being charged
